Christine is an educator with both practical and research experience. She was a classroom teacher for 12 years and has been involved in teacher education with Massey University for over 20 years. Christine was part of a Massey research project and recently facilitated a project in schools called Teaching to Ensure Progress in Literacy. She is an MoE PLD Accredited Facilitator.

TAMARA DAHM
MEd(Literacy)(Dist), GradDipTchg(Primary), BA
Tamara has recently completed her Master of Education with a literacy specialisation. She lives in New Plymouth and taught for eight years, acquiring classroom expertise with foundations in literacy, including for children with learning difficulties. Tamara is an MoE PLD Accredited Facilitator.

CLAIRE KNIGHT

Claire has more than 20 years’ experience in primary education across all year levels both in New Zealand and overseas. In addition to roles as a Deputy Principal and Consultant, she is a trained RTLB, has completed Associate Level at the Orton Gillingham Academy and is currently undertaking Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training. She is a passionate advocate for all things learning to support students on their learning journey.

JOHNNA ALBORN
BA(Ed), DipTchg
With over 25 years of teaching experience in New Zealand and China, Johnna brings a wealth of literacy knowledge to the team. She completed her Literacy Education for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training in 2021 and Orton-Gillingham Academy basic training in 2022. Based in Nelson, Johnna is available to support kaiako in the Tasman and Wellington regions to enhance ākonga engagement and competency in reading and writing through the structured literacy approach.
