“Nāku te rourou, nāu te rourou ka ora ai te iwi”

With your basket and my basket, the people will live

Anna Dickson and Kim Thomson, IYT Mentors and Registered Educational Psychologists are heading to Seattle to present a Booster Session on ”New Zealand IY Teacher Classroom Management for Teachers  “.  The focus of the session will be sustainability of the IY Teacher Programme.

A booster session is designed to re-engage, reinvigorate, remind and reconnect everything that has been learned and shared in previous sessions.

The purpose of this session is to investigate how to keep the Incredible Years Teacher Programme alive in schools and centres by:

• identifying strategies used to keep the Programme alive in schools and centres and how to continue to use them

• revise topics that require revisitation

• share resources made to embed the programme in practice

• review previous topics that evidence suggests teachers will find challenging (for example, time out, social and emotional coaching, and problem solving).

Massey University holds the Ministry of Education contract to manage the IYT workforce in New Zealand. Anna and Kim are part of the team at Tātai Angitu e3@Massey.
